Both services exist because of the same fact about modern India: people have moved, and the places their families have always prayed at have not. A daughter in Toronto, a son in Dubai, a family that left a village in the 1990s and has not been back since the grandparents died. Prayer at a distance is old, but doing it through an app is roughly five years old, and the two services answer the same need with different machinery.
